Wedding Invitations Dressed to Impress!

All little girls love to play dress-up, trying on strings of pearls, beads and baubles to go with their too-big grownup clothes. For a fun, unique and economical upgrade, consider doing the same thing with your wedding invitations.
Most wedding invitations come with an inner and outer envelope, and although the inner envelope is offered with a liner (the glossy substance on the inside flap), it still can look plain from the outside. Try dressing up the envelope with a simple bow or hand-tie ribbon in a shade that coordinates with the invitation colors. Polka dots, patterns, chiffon or satin ... the added touch can make a standard invitation completely unique.
Though we sell ribbon at Be Our Guest 25-Free Wedding Invitations, I recommend purchasing ribbon by the spool for this kind of project. You can find entire walls of ribbon at a fabric store, usually available in 25-100 yard rolls, at a fraction of the cost of buying it pre-cut from your invitation company. Inner envelope ties take about 24" of ribbon each to allow a comfortable margin to work with; so a good rule of thumb is 100 yards of ribbon will do about 130 envelope ties. Any leftover ribbon can be used on flowergirl baskets, centerpieces, ring pillows or even as hair ties for the kids.
Simply beautiful, and cheap, too!
